Eagles Losing Streak Grows to Three in Seattle

With quarterback Jalen Hurts battling an illness that put into question whether he would suit up, the Philadelphia Eagles traveled to Lumen Field to face off against the Seattle Seahawks. Needing a win to jump the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East standings and keep pace for the NFC’s top seed, the Eagles suffered their third straight loss, falling 20-17.

For the third straight week, the Eagles offense failed to eclipse the 20 point mark, which they had only done once in the 11 outings to precede their losing streak. Hurts’ illness limited him and though he ran for two touchdowns, he threw two costly interceptions, including one that essentially ended the game as the Eagles were driving toward field goal range.

Though the Eagles led for the majority of the game, when it mattered most on defense, Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock picked the team apart, as he led a 10-play, 92 yard drive that culminated in the winning touchdown.

The Eagles have clinched a playoff spot, but it appears that their grip on both the NFC East crown and the top seed is gone after three straight losses. Things get easier for the team in the waning days of the season though, as they play the Giants twice, including next week, and the Cardinals – three games that the team should win.
