After suffering the franchise’s first ever loss to the New York Jets just a week prior, the Eagles got back on the right path this week with a 31-17 win over the Miami Dolphins in primetime on Sunday Night Football.

After an off week for starting quarterback Jalen Hurts, in which he threw three interceptions, Hurts recovered in a big way against the Dolphins. He scored three total touchdowns, including two passing ones and a running one, in addition to passing for 279 yards. The story of the day, however, was wide receiver A.J. Brown, who continued the blistering receiving pace he’s carried over the last several weeks. Brown secured 10 catches for 137 yards and a touchdown. It’s his fifth straight game with over 100 receiving yards, and he has 809 yards on the season – good enough for second in the league.

On the defensive side, the Eagles defense stepped up and held the league’s number one offense to its lowest point total this season. The defense had an interception, four sacks, and held the Dolphins to just 244 yards of total offense. Just under half of their average offensive production.

After a week at home, the Eagles will head back on the road to face their division rival, the Washington Commanders, on October 29th. It will be the two teams second and last matchup of the year. In their last time out, the Eagles won 34-31.
