High School football is inching closer to the end of the regular season and into the playoffs, and several top teams in the region were in action on Friday night. St. Joseph’s Prep won handily in their second conference game of the season, beating La Salle College 42-6 as the team moved to 5-1 on the season. The team was led by running back Isaiah West, who ran for one touchdown, before catching two more. Starting quarterback Samaj Jones, who has committed to University of Cincinnati, threw for four touchdowns in the game.
The team remained ranked number 11th in the MaxPreps top 25 ranking following the win, the only Pennsylvania team to appear in the top 25. They continue with their in-conference schedule this week, hosting 3-4 Father Judge on Friday, October 13th.
In other news from around the region, Imhotep Charter, who MaxPreps ranks as the 92nd best team in the country, easily dispatched Northeast High School by a score of 35-0. Several other teams MaxPreps ranks as the 25 best in Pennsylvania were in action as well. 12th ranked Roman Catholic defeated Archbishop Wood 34-3, 13th ranked Spring-Ford handled Perikiomen Valley 28-7, 16th ranked Downingtown West beat Coatesville 21-14, and 17th ranked Central Bucks West disposed of Neshaminy 31-7. 11th ranked Downingtown East was scheduled to play Academy Park, but the game was postponed due to security concerns.
