Week 8 of high school football is in the books as teams from around the region all have an eye toward the playoffs. In the region, the most heightened focus remains on St. Joseph’s Prep, where after an easy 55-19 win over conference opponent Father Judge, the team moved to 6-1 on the season and into the MaxPreps national top 10. The Hawks face a non-conference road test on Friday, October 20th, as they head down I-95 to Severn, Maryland to face off against 6-1 Archbishop Spalding. MaxPreps currently has Archbishop Spalding as the 4th best team in the state of Maryland.

Elsewhere in the region, Imhotep Charter, who is ranked 92 in the MaxPreps national rankings, trounced Olney High School 62-0. In the game, running backs led the way, scoring seven touchdowns on the ground and racking up 235 rushing yards.

Outside of that, several MaxPreps Pennsylvania top 25 teams from around town were in action, including 5th ranked Malvern Prep, 12th ranked Downingtown East, 14th ranked La Salle College, 15th ranked Spring-Ford, 16th ranked Central Bucks West, 20th ranked Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, and 21st ranked Downingtown West.
